The short answer
In Rhoe, choose “Xtream Codes”, then enter the server URL (with its port), your username and your password exactly as your provider sent them. Rhoe loads your live channels, the guide, and your provider's films and series.

What are Xtream Codes?
“Xtream Codes” was originally the name of a panel that IPTV services used to manage subscribers. The panel is long gone, but its player API became a de facto standard, so today “Xtream Codes”, “Xtream API” or an “XC login” just means a server address plus a username and password that a player uses to fetch channels, guide data and a film and series catalogue.
It is a login format, not a provider. Rhoe is compatible with it; Rhoe does not sell or run Xtream services.
What your provider sends you
Providers word it differently, but you should find three things in your welcome email or account page:

Keep the port number (the :8080 part) if there is one. It is part of the address.
Finding your login inside a get.php link
Some providers only send an M3U link. If it looks like this, it is an Xtream Codes service and you can log in with the pieces:

Logging in this way instead of pasting the link as an M3U playlist gets you the provider's guide and the film and series library, not just live channels.
How to log in to Rhoe with Xtream Codes
- Install Rhoe from the download page and open it.
- Choose “Xtream Codes” as the connection type.
- Enter the server URL with its port and nothing after it. If you paste an address ending in
/player_api.php, Rhoe removes that part for you. - Enter your username and password and connect. They are saved in your device's keychain (iOS Keychain or Android Keystore), never on Rhoe's servers.
- Start watching. Live TV opens first; films and series live in the Video Club.

Xtream Codes login not working?
“Couldn't connect”
Nine times out of ten it is the server address: a missing port, a typo, or a path such as /c/ left on the end. Enter it exactly as your provider wrote it, with nothing after the port.
The address ends in /c/
That is a Stalker portal, not an Xtream server. Choose Stalker portal in Rhoe and enter the portal URL and the MAC address your provider registered.
The server only works over http://
Rhoe's release builds require HTTPS for the server address, because the login request carries your password. Ask your provider for an HTTPS address.
“Expired” or the login is refused
Check your subscription on the provider's own site. Also check the username and password for look-alike characters: a capital I and a lowercase l, or a zero and a capital O.
Channels list, but nothing plays
Your login works; the stream is being refused. Usually the connection limit is already in use on another device, or the provider locks streams to one IP address.
Questions
Is Xtream Codes an IPTV provider?
No. It is the name of a login format that many IPTV services use. You still need a subscription from a service, and Rhoe is only the player.
What is the “DNS” my provider mentions?
Many providers call the server address the “DNS”, “host” or “portal”. Whatever the name, it goes in the Server URL field, including the port.
Can I use one Xtream Codes login on several devices?
You can add the same login to Rhoe on every device you own. Whether they can all play at once depends on how many simultaneous connections your provider allows.
Xtream Codes or M3U: which should I use?
If you have both, use Xtream Codes. It includes the provider's guide and film and series library, while an M3U playlist in Rhoe gives you live channels only.
Does Rhoe upload my Xtream password?
No. The server URL, username and password stay in your device's secure keychain and go only to your provider's server. They are not included in Rhoe account sync.
